I'm Chris.

Profile

In 2009, I graduated from Gray’s School of Art with a design degree. Entering the job market during a global financial crisis presented significant challenges, particularly within the creative industries. To broaden my opportunities and strengthen my professional foundation, I returned to university to pursue a Master’s degree in International Marketing Management. Transitioning from an art-school environment to a business-focused programme was an adjustment, but one that ultimately expanded my strategic thinking and enhanced my understanding of commercial creativity. I ultimatley completed the course with merit.

With a strengthened academic background and a recovering economy, I secured a placement at Aberdeen’s award winning design agency tbp! (formerly The Big Picture). The role quickly evolved into a full-time position, making me the first designer the agency had hired directly from university. This experience provided a fast-paced introduction to agency life and laid the groundwork for my development as a multidisciplinary designer.

Several years later, I moved to BrewDog as the creative manager. Working within such a dynamic, globally recognised brand allowed me to refine my creative leadership skills and contribute to a wide range of high-impact projects.

Throughout my career, I have delivered work for major clients including Whyte & Mackay, Union Square, Next, Scottish Power, Total, and Falck Safety Services. I am highly proficient across the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and I bring over a decade of experience in creative problem-solving, visual communication, and brand development.
